Resist the Temptation

There will be a lot of people on the right tempted to somehow gloat or take pleasure in the fall of soon-to-be former governor Eliot Spitzer. By now, we should know that human nature is the same on both sides of the political aisle and therefore, neiter party will ever be immune to scandals.

Perhaps this would be a good time to remember Proverbs 24:17...

"Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice,"

Or Proverbs 25:21...

"If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink."

I know nothing about Eliot Spitzer, only that he was made in God's image. I pray that through all of this, he learns about the reality of redemption and the power of God's limitless mercy.
